ESB International has an exciting opportunity for a Technical Support Engineer to join our team in the mobilisation of a new, modern Power Plant in Marsaxlokk, Malta.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to join the Technical Services Team as a Technical Support Engineer.

Role Description:
The Technical Support Engineer will be responsible for providing a range of services to the station in the areas of ICT, engineering, planning, performance analysis, information and records.
The Power Plant Technical Services Team will work flexibly and collaboratively together and with its contractors.

Key Responsibilities Include:
Duties will include, but are not be limited to, the following:
• Manage ICT support and upgrade services;
• Operating the Computerised Maintenance and Spares Management System;
• Monitoring and reporting on plant performance;
• Assisting with the procurement of spares and consumables;
• Assist with planning, monitoring and reporting on progress of overhaul programmes and breakdown repairs;
• Preparation of reports including monthly reports and business reviews;
• Assist with projects and technical support as required;
• Design, implementation and reporting of plant performance and integrity monitoring systems;
• Arranging statutory testing of plant and equipment;
• Ensuring compliance with standards, policies and procedures;
• Maintenance of technical records, manuals, quality document/drawing record systems;
• Business planning/optimising income;
• Project/Contract management;
• Ensuring that all spares and materials are available for overhauls;
• Preparation of tenders, work specifications and contract supervision;
• Safety risk identification, assessment and management;
• Ensuring compliance of the environmental management system;
• Management and development of ICT systems;
• Contribute to the use and development of all business systems;
• Data collection and analysis;
• Carry out the role in management of safety, environment and quality as identified in the relevant ISO systems and processes;
• Additional duties as required by the Technical Services Manager.

Znanja i kvalifikacije:
Knowledge, Skills & Work Experience:
• A recognised Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or ICT (MQF level 6), or equivalent, that is holding a Chartered Engineer Status, or three (3) years recent relevant work experience in the technical support services of a power plant or similar process industry;
• A minimum of three (3) years recent work experience in a similar role;
• Knowledge of ICT systems and management of databases;
• Knowledge of the operation and maintenance of power generation equipment is desirable;
• Experience in the operation of Work Management Systems;
• Excellent interpersonal skills;
• Developed skills in report, procedure and specification writing;
• A good command of written and spoken English is essential;
• Be in possession of a valid driving licence.

Relationship:
Reporting to the Technical Services Manager.

Working Arrangements:
The Technical Support Engineer will be engaged on day duty basis on an average of forty (40) hours per week.

Training & Continuous Professional Development: As it is a newly built power plant a significant amount of training will be provided in the early stage of plant set-up. Whilst most training will be carried out at site or locally, there may be a requirement to attend some training at the Original Equipment Manufacturer’s (OEM) workshops or training centres where appropriate.
