You know how to keep engines running and teams performing. As 2nd Engineer on board on one of our innovative dredging vessels, you will do more than maintain systems, you will help build a better world. Join us to keep our global projects moving and shape the future with every rotation.
The Position As 2nd Engineer, you are responsible for the condition and maintenance of all technical installations on board our dredging vessels, including the HAM 318, Vox Amalia, and Utrecht. You work in a 12-hour rotation and report directly to the Chief Engineer. Together, you ensure all technical systems operate smoothly to support the success of our maritime projects.

• Maintain, optimise and improve the engine room and technical systems in close cooperation with the Chief Engineer.
• Execute routine maintenance and repairs to guarantee top technical performance.
• Supervise, motivate and instruct assigned crew members to get the best from the team.
• Create a constructive and supportive work atmosphere onboard.
• Maintain ship administration according to Van Oord procedures.

About You You are calm under pressure, committed to teamwork and ready to take responsibility. Your maritime background, technical expertise, and strong communication skills make you a valuable force onboard. In addition, you also have:
• Mbo or hbo diploma in Marine Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of experience as 2nd Engineer on dredging vessels.
• DP Maintenance Certificate and the required valid STCW documents.
