Structural Engineer (Naval / Offshore – Basic Design & FEM) (m/f)
O poslu
We are involved across the full project lifecycle, from early concepts to detailed engineering, and through construction and commissioning. This means your work doesn’t stop at design, you see how things are actually built and made to work.
Most of our projects are fast-track and non-standard. There’s rarely a template to follow. You’ll be expected to think, solve problems, and take responsibility, not just execute tasks. Our projects span Singapore, Malaysia, China, Turkey, Germany, Egypt, Brazil, Mexico, and Africa. The systems are real, complex, and operating, not just drawings that stay on paper.
How we work
• no unnecessary hierarchy
• direct communication, no layers
• people are expected to think, not just execute
• responsibility is given, not waited for
• collaboration over internal competition
If you’re capable, you’ll be involved in different parts of the project, not limited to a narrow scope. You’ll understand how things connect, not just your piece of work.
What to expect
We’re building a team in Rijeka for engineers who want real responsibility and fast development.
This kind of work is not for everyone.
Fast-track projects mean pressure, accountability, and a high level of dedication. You’re expected to contribute, stay focused, and deliver.
But if that suits you, you’ll work on tailor-made solutions built from scratch and gain exposure across the full project lifecycle, faster than in more structured environments.
Job Description
We are seeking a Structural Engineer responsible for the design and analysis of structural modules and modifications for ship conversion and offshore applications, including LNG and regasification systems. The role involves developing general arrangements, performing structural calculations, and ensuring compliance with marine classification requirements.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop General Arrangement (GA) drawings in coordination with process, piping, and mechanical teams
• Design structural systems for modules and equipment supports (beams, plates, stiffeners, foundations)
• Perform structural analysis using FEM tools (e.g., Strand7), including:
- Strength and stress analysis
- Natural frequency (modal) analysis
- Load case evaluation (operational, transport, lifting)
Define load paths and ensure proper integration with existing ship structure
• Prepare structural calculation reports and documentation for class approval (DNV, ABS, BV, LR)
• Optimize structural design for weight, strength, and constructability
• Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure compatibility of layouts and loads
Occasional business trips for vessel pre-engineering inspection, installation work supervision, and commissioning.
• Opportunity to work on LNG and marine retrofit projects
• Exposure to full EPC engineering workflow
• Clear career path toward Project Management
• Collaborative and technically strong working environment
• Competitive income.
O zaposleniku
• Degree in Naval Architecture, Structural Engineering, or related field
• 5–10+ years of experience in structural design (marine, offshore, or heavy industry)
• Strong experience with FEM analysis (Strand7 or similar)
• Understanding of marine/offshore structural standards and class requirements
• Experience in structural design of modules or retrofits
Preferred
• Experience in LNG, offshore modules, or ship conversion projects
• Familiarity with Rhino or Inventor for conceptual modeling
• Understanding of fabrication methods and installation constraints
