Sport&Event Manager (m/f) - Falkensteiner Punta Skala Resort

Job Summary:
As the Sport & Event Manager at our 5-star resort, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the resort’s sports and recreational facilities, ensuring a seamless and exceptional guest experience. You will also lead the planning and execution of various events, including corporate meetings, conferences, and private functions, utilizing our modern meeting rooms and multifunctional event space in Ventus hall. Your role will combine sports management with event coordination, ensuring both active and leisure activities meet the highest standards of service and luxury.

JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Sports & Recreation Operations:

Manage and supervise the operation of the resort’s sports center, including tennis courts, padel courts, gym, and bowling area.
Oversee staff recruitment, training, and performance for all sports and recreation team members, including tennis/padel instructors, fitness trainers, and other sports personnel.
Create and implement sports programs and activities to engage guests of all ages and skill levels, ensuring that offerings are aligned with the resort’s luxury standards.
Ensure all equipment and facilities are maintained to the highest safety and operational standards.
Coordinate guest reservations for sports activities, ensuring efficient scheduling and management of space and equipment.
Develop fitness and wellness packages in collaboration with the spa or wellness team, offering customized fitness programs, personal training, and wellness events.
Monitor the quality of guest experience, addressing any issues or feedback to maintain exceptional service standards.

Event Coordination & Management:

Lead the planning, organization, and execution of all events hosted at the resort, including corporate meetings, conferences, private events, and leisure gatherings.
Work closely with clients and internal teams (sales, marketing, F&B, etc.) to understand event requirements and ensure smooth execution.
Manage event budgets, providing cost estimates and ensuring events are executed within budgetary constraints.
Oversee logistics for events including room setup, A/V requirements, catering, transportation, and other guest needs.
Coordinate with external vendors (e.g., decorators, event rental companies) to ensure all aspects of the event are properly executed.
Maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, event planners, and other stakeholders to maximize the resort’s event business.
Promote the resort as a venue for events, meetings, and conferences, creating packages and marketing initiatives to attract new business.

Guest Engagement & Customer Service:

Foster a guest-centric environment, ensuring that all sports and event services meet the highest standards of luxury hospitality.
Anticipate guest needs, ensuring personalized attention for sports bookings, event coordination, and special requests.
Address guest concerns or issues promptly to ensure complete satisfaction with all sports and event-related activities.
Organize seasonal tournaments, events, and promotions to increase guest participation and enjoyment of the resort's sports facilities.

Reporting & Budgeting:

Track and report key performance metrics for the sports and event operations, providing regular updates to senior management.
Create and manage budgets for sports activities and events, including staffing, equipment, and facility maintenance costs.
Monitor revenue generation from sports services, events, and group bookings, striving to exceed financial targets.

Health & Safety Compliance:

Ensure that all sports and event activities comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Maintain a safe working environment for staff and guests, including conducting regular safety inspections of sports equipment and event spaces.

REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS:

Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Sports Management, Event Management, or a related field (preferred).
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in sports management, event planning, or hospitality operations, preferably in a luxury resort or hotel setting.
Fluent in multiple languages, particularly English and Croatian
Strong knowledge of sports facilities and activities, including tennis, padel, fitness, and bowling.
Proven experience in managing events from conception to execution, with an emphasis on luxury and guest satisfaction.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire staff to deliver outstanding service.
Exceptional communication skills (both written and verbal), with the ability to work effectively with clients, staff, and vendors.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, event management software, and property management systems.
A passion for sports, recreation, and event planning, with a customer-focused approach.

*This role is based within a hospitality environment, which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays based on operational needs.
