Sport Manager (m/f) - Falkensteiner Punta Skala Resort
Job Summary:
The Sports Manager is responsible for the strategic planning, development, and daily operation of all sports and active recreation programs within the resort. The role ensures exceptional guest experiences through innovative programming, high safety standards, professional team leadership, and effective management of sports facilities and equipment. The Sports Manager works closely with Wellness, Guest Experience, Food & Beverage, Sales & Marketing, and Events teams to position the resort as a leading active lifestyle destination.
JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Sports Program Development
- Design and implement year-round sports and recreational activities for all guest segments.
- Develop signature sports experiences aligned with the resort's brand and wellness philosophy.
- Create seasonal activity schedules, tournaments, clinics, and special sporting events.
- Introduce new trends and innovative fitness and outdoor experiences.
Operations Management
- Oversee the daily operation of all sports facilities and outdoor activity areas.
- Ensure all facilities are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and safety.
- Monitor equipment inventory, maintenance, and replacement.
- Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Guest Experience
- Deliver exceptional guest service through personalized sports experiences.
- Respond promptly to guest feedback and continuously improve service quality.
- Collaborate with Guest Relations to create bespoke activity itineraries.
- Ensure activities are inclusive and suitable for various age groups and fitness levels.
Team Leadership
- Recruit, train, motivate, and supervise sports instructors and activity coordinators.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations.
- Foster a culture of professionalism, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Schedule staff efficiently based on business needs.
Health & Safety
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and emergency procedures.
- Conduct regular risk assessments for all sports activities.
- Ensure certifications and first aid qualifications remain current.
- Investigate and report incidents according to company procedures.
Financial Management
- Prepare annual operating budgets.
- Monitor departmental expenses and revenue performance.
- Identify opportunities for revenue generation through sports programs, private coaching, memberships, and retail.
- Manage purchasing and vendor relationships.
Collaboration
- Work closely with:
- Wellness & Spa
- Front Office
- Housekeeping
- Food & Beverage
- Sales & Marketing
- Events Team
- Support resort-wide events and promotional campaigns.
Marketing & Promotion
- Develop attractive sports packages and experiences.
- Assist Marketing in creating engaging content for social media and promotional materials.
- Promote participation through guest communications and digital platforms.
Sustainability
- Promote environmentally responsible sports practices.
- Encourage outdoor experiences that respect local nature and culture.
- Support the resort's sustainability initiatives.
REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS:
- Bachelor's degree in Sports Management, Physical Education, Recreation Management, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
- Additional certifications in sports coaching, outdoor activities, or fitness are an advantage.
- Minimum 2 years of experience managing sports or recreation operations in luxury hospitality, resorts, wellness destinations, or premium sports clubs.
- Experience leading multicultural teams.
- Event planning experience preferred

* This role is based within a hospitality environment, which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays based on operational needs.
Employment Details:
• Full-time position (40 hours per week), organized in shifts according to operational requirements.
• Salary range: EUR 2,156 – EUR 2,625 gross/month, depending on qualifications and experience.
