To support this exciting market entry, we are seeking a Payroll Specialist, an experienced professional who will ensure that payroll operations run smoothly, efficiently, and accurately, while contributing to Action’s story in Croatia and growing with a brand that values customer focus, teamwork, and respect.


Position

As a Payroll Specialist, you will join the HR Services department. Your main mission is to ensure timely and accurate salary payments while maintaining full compliance with internal and statutory requirements. This role combines hands-on payroll processing with analytical and advisory responsibilities, ensuring high operational standards and continuous process improvement. Responsibilities
  • Oversee cooperation with external payroll providers and ensure process accuracy and efficiency.
  • Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing in full compliance with statutory and internal regulations.
  • Manage payroll data, including tax, social security, and health insurance calculations and submissions.
  • Support Finance with payroll accounting, reconciliations, and reporting activities.
  • Monitor legal and regulatory changes related to payroll and advise on required adjustments.
  • Identify and implement process and system improvements to enhance payroll operations.
  • Maintain appropriate internal controls and documentation standards.
  • Provide guidance to HR Services colleagues on complex payroll issues and act as back-up for the Coordinator Payroll & Support.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in payroll and HR administration roles.
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent).
  • Knowledge of payroll systems and processes; advanced proficiency in Excel.
  • Understanding of local taxation, social security, and employment legislation.
  • Experience in continuous process improvement and system optimization.
  • Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Analytical, detail-oriented, and highly organized.
  • Able to work efficiently under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • A proactive, pragmatic, and collaborative team player.
