Lead Developer - Full Stack (m/f)
About us
We are a US-based startup connecting restaurants with creators. Restaurants pay when diners show up. Creators earn when their recommendations convert. We're live in beta, funded, and approaching our first market launch.
We're hiring our first dedicated developer in Europe. This isn't a staff augmentation role — you'll own the product technically and be the foundation of a small, high-trust engineering team we intend to grow around you.
What you'll actually be doing
- Inherit and take full ownership of a working web application (PHP backend, JS frontend).
- Directly collaborate with the founder and CTO — no middle management layers.
- Assess severity, fix urgent issues, and guide the stack toward modernization on your own timeline.
- Build with AI-assisted workflows (Claude, Cursor, Copilot) to maximize output.
What we need
- Strong Full-Stack Skills: Comfortable across backend logic, UI, databases, and deployment.
- Technical Ownership: You own uptime and make the judgment calls when things break.
- AI Proficiency: You use AI tools daily and know exactly where they provide the most leverage.
- Strong English: Capable of writing clear reports and communicating asynchronously without ambiguity.
- Local Connection: You are connected to the local dev community to help us grow the team later.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional development experience.
- Experience with PHP and JavaScript.
- Comfortable managing Linux servers, CI/CD, and AWS (or similar).
- Working knowledge of PostgreSQL or MySQL and REST APIs.
- Experience working autonomously in a remote setting.
What we offer
- Competitive Salary: 3.000 € to 5.000 € bruto (We respect transparency).
- Foundational Role: Be the cornerstone of our European engineering team.
- Direct Impact: Shape the product, don't just "implement tickets."
- True Flexibility: We care about output, not clock-watching.
