Summary: The U.S. Mission in Zagreb, Croatia is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of IRC Assistant.
The work schedule for this position is:
• full time – 40 hours per week.
Start date: Candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable period of time after the receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications or their candidacy may end.
Supervisory Position: No
Duties: The position backs up and supports the IRC Director. Incumbent participates in formulating the IRC Strategic Plan. Works on designing programs to strengthen relationships between the Embassy and Croatian institutions of higher learning, education, and librarianship. Supports the American Corner program. Arranges outreach programs and produces a daily press summary.

EDUCATION: BA in Information (Library Sciences), International Relations, Journalism, American Studies or Political Science is required.
Requirements:
EXPERIENCE: Two years of experience in professional library environment or Foreign Affairs is required.
KNOWLEDGE: Must have good understanding of US society, Croatian/Regional Affairs and excellent knowledge of electronic search/reference databases.
Evaluations:
LANGUAGE: Level 4 (Fluent) Speaking/Reading/Writing of English is required. (This may be tested.)
Level 4 (Fluent) speaking/Reading/Writing of Croatian language is required.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must have advanced computer and communication skills. Must be able to provide excellent service orientation to target audience. Must have excellent interpersonal and cross-cultural skills.
Qualifications: All applicants under consideration will be required to pass security certifications.
