You will be responsible for providing staff and authors with training and support on all technologies being used within the organization. This will require not only mastery of the various tools we use but also an understanding of how our people use these technologies to do their work. In addition to performing basic system maintenance, you will also research solutions to technical support problems.
PRIMARY DUTIES
Train staff and authors in the use of:
- various file formats and markup languages;
- various version control and document storage systems;
- various document and image processing tools;
- various business applications.
Provide staff and authors with assistance regarding technical questions and issues.
Research solutions to technical problems.
Manage user accounts and permissions.
Troubleshoot basic setup and configuration issues.
REPRESENTATIVE TOOLS AND TECHNOLOGIES (no need to know all)
AsciiDoc (special points for knowing AsciiDoc), MS Word, XML, Markdown, HTML, DocBook
ePub, Mobi, PDF
Graphics formats: .jpg, .png, .gif, .tif, .ai, .svg, .eps
Git, Subversion, Nuxeo, Google Drive, Dropbox
Adobe Acrobat, Illustrator, Photoshop, FrameMaker, InDesign
