Sales Representative, Diabetes, Croatia

The main purpose of this role is to execute country field development strategies and tactical plans to achieve Medtronic growth targets within a Specific Business Unit (SBU), to coordinate Patient Access Acceleration (PAA) processes and to support country related Academia and Clinical teams' activities where needed.
The jobholder is primarily responsible for selling the full range of products in assigned accounts or regions in a professional manner to hospitals and related healthcare professionals, as well as for the management of quality and consistency of product and service delivery. You will cooperate and coordinate activities with the whole Diabetes team in the territory in order to maximize the opportunities and build strong business relationships with customers, to ensure usage of our products and gain greater market share, leading through economic selling, developing and presenting commercial offers:

Selling and account support

  • Facilitates country specific implementation of key field development strategies & tactics.
  • Develops and executes local awareness programs to improve specific target education.
  • Analyzes local SBU market's opportunities and risks on a continuous basis. Presents analysis to Country Manager and Country Business Manager. Supports market penetration improvement.
  • Identifies, evaluates and recommends local market growth opportunities for a SBU, consistent with product line objectives.
  • Evaluates program impact. Implements continuous improvement.
  • Provide a technical support to physicians as per specific business unit (SBU) and therapy requirements.
  • Generate trust in referring physicians that enhances brand compliance and makes Medtronic the company of choice.

Relationship Management

  • Builds and maintains relationship with local sales force teams and distributors.
  • Communicates proactively to all levels of management and stakeholders.
  • Build strong and lasting relationships with key decision makers
  • Assures alignment with other local functional areas such as research, clinical, development, education, reimbursement and sales.
  • Supports Clinical Management with linkages to local KOLs and Therapy Centers.

Education / Training

  • Educate referring physicians on clinical evidence of defined therapies demonstrating improved patient outcomes. Foster brand loyalty of Medtronic products, therapies and services which enable referring physicians to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Supports Academia/Impact SBU Trainer in identifying the proctors and KOLs to accelerate market growth.
  • Ensures alignment of education and clinical activities with the country strategy

Internal and administrative

  • Reports all account, market and competitive information and trends and metrics in a comprehensive, complete and timely fashion using defined tools
  • Reports immediately and accurately all negative customer or product related events (e.g., customer feedback, product and legal issues and risks…etc).
  • *Carries out all administrative duties and all necessary reports in a timely and diligent manner. Provides minimum, but regular activity report to manager. Attends all required regional and national meetings.

Must haves:

  • University degree
  • Minimum 2 years of sales experience in pharmaceuticals or medical devices, knowledge about sales processes, communication with doctors and patients
  • Proven track record of delivering results
  • Experience with developing therapy access
  • Good knowledge of English and Croatian languages spoken and written, knowledge of other local languages within Adriatic cluster may be advantage
  • Result driven
  • Analytical skills to understand local market and customers' needs
  • Ability to coordinate and manage multiple projects
  • Ability to work independently
  • Excellent customer service skills, strong interpersonal and communication skills at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to work effectively in a matrix organisation structure
  • Negotiation skills
  • Competency to build and maintain strong business relationship with customers
  • Full clean driving license
  • Computer literacy
  • Willingness to travel intensively

Nice to haves:

  • Degree in health sciences
  • Sales experience in diabetes
  • Advanced product knowledge
  • Experience in operating in a matrix environment
  • Established relationships with key opinion leaders in diabetes field
  • Strategic planning experience
  • Experience in working in distributor environment (preferred, but not necessary)
