Service Engineers to Alfa Laval Aalborg in Solin
Marine engineers / electrical engineers looking for new challenges as service engineers will have good opportunities in our new set up for service engineers at Alfa Laval Aalborg in Solin.
Alfa Laval Aalborg – the worlds leading supplier of marine boilers – is looking for two service engineers for our Marine After Sales division in Solin. The Croatia site is part of our global after sales service network consisting of 12 offices worldwide. Globally, the After Sales division comprises about 300 employees engaged in the sales and order execution of repairs and service of boilers, burners and control systems onboard ships worldwide. We are a dynamic and flexible team working with complex and challenging tasks with great focus on customer satisfaction in an international oriented organization.

As a service engineer in our new division in Solin you will work out of the Croatian office and travel worldwide to carry out maintenance and repair tasks onboard vessels. The job includes much travel activity (approximately 180 days per year) and the work pace is high. It is therefore important that you are flexible, independent and robust and would like to work in a very active environment.
Your primary tasks will be:
• Service and troubleshooting of boilers, burners and control systems
• Inspection of boilers and related systems
• Commissioning of boiler plants and retrofits worldwide
• Training of crew in servicing the boiler and burner installation

Your competences
An ideal candidate is a marine oriented engineer preferably with a background from onboard seagoing vessels i.e. 3rd - 1st engineers, Chief Engineers and/or heavily experienced vessel electricians. The experience onboard seagoing vessels is a strong qualification, and hands on experience with our product portfolio plays an important role in any potential candidate. Based on our currently employed service engineers, we are focused on an electrical/automation background, as most of our onboard work involves troubleshooting on electrical equipment and automation (single loop controllers or microprocessor based controls).
The educational level of our existing service engineers includes, but is not limited to: Marine engineering:
- Electronic machineries, system and equipment 45 ECTS points
- Process analysis and automation 15 ECTS points
- Thermal machineries and systems 40 ECTS points
We expect you to have a background as a marine engineer or an electrical engineer with knowledge of boilers, burners and control systems. Experience is an advantage, but not a requirement. Good communication skills in English, spoken and written, are essential, along with a good understanding of Microsoft Office products. Driving license is required.
