Senior Design Engineer (m/f) – North Cork, Ireland

We are seeking a Senior Design Engineer for our client who are specialists in the design of facades and Curtain walling. This is a permanent role with this client based in North Cork. The ideal candidate will have minimum 5-6 years design experience, in particular specifically working on facades, glazing and curtain walling projects.
The Role:
- Excellent knowledge of rainscreen systems.
- Excellent knowledge of glazing systems.
- Prepare, modify & refine conceptual/draft/shop/fabrication drawings.
- Prepare 3D models of buildings and installation details as per customer requirement and giving real life 3D idea to customer using Deep Exploration.
- Good knowledge of building structures, movements etc.
- Good knowledge of cladding materials (stone, ceramic clay tiles, metal sheets, HPL, fibre cement etc).
- Good knowledge of global suppliers.
- Evaluate feasibility of design ideas, based on factors such as appearance, safety, function, serviceability, budget, production costs/methods, and market characteristics.
- Coordinate with façade engineer and other engineering department staff to verify form, fit and function.
Requirements:
- Qualifications: Relevant design courses, Architectural Technology, Engineering etc.
- Experience: Façade and glazing design experience essential
- Software: Excellent user of AutoCAD 2D/3D BIM, Investor, AutoCad Athena, Solidworks, ArchiCAD, Rhino 3D or Grasshopper 3D an advantage. 3D Modelling and visualisation experience desirable.
- Fluent English is essential.
- Strong social networking presence Google+, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn etc & experience with pictures/video uploads an advantage.
