Job description:

  • Maintenance Strategy & Deployment
    • Works collaboratively with executive management, senior management and in-line with Engineering Group strategy to develop and deliver maintenance excellence roadmap actions for the SEE region to deliver highly reliable assets & competent people delivering the needs of the business.
    • Actively supports the engineering network in developing a SEE region maintenance budget and by providing insight and direction to optimise maintenance costs for the region.

  • Functional Governance
    • Leads the implementation of engineering functional governance for the SEE region to allow efficient interface with the network of 14 legacy SU’s
    • Establish engineering standards and processes in line with Group roadmap to achieve best in class performance from SEE region
    • Deploy Group engineering scorecard to track and manage SEE engineering performance Engineering Compliance
    • Working with regional SHE assess and ensure that SSOW are in place for engineering activities – where gaps are identified these must be escalated in order to close efficiently
    • Assess and ensure all aspects of Engineering compliance are managed across the SEE region
    • Ensures regulatory compliance and works collaboratively with relevant regulatory/EU bodies
    • Ensure Engineering Suppliers & 3rd parties are operating to Legislative & internal standards

  • Capex Management
    • Develop Capex investment plans for the SEE region SU’s in-line with budget cycle
    • Working with the Group’s engineering manager, ensures total Capex spend for SEE region is managed & governed to deliver best value for company
    • Oversee capital projects including new construction, new equipment installations, equipment and/or existing process improvement initiatives, etc., via internal support and/or through a third party
    • Deliver the Bonsai footprint optimisation plans from a technical perspective

  • Competence Building & Succession Planning
    • Working with SEE site Directors, ensure the desired level of competence (mechanical, electrical, automation etc.) is present to deliver both the Supply Chain annual & strategic plans Along with OpX establish capability and competence level to allow operator asset care to be deployed as part of our OpX strategy Sustainability Engineering
    • Lead the sustainability program for the SEE region – assessment and roadmap to deliver company ambition and 2025 target
    • Work collaboratively with Manufacturing Carbon Reduction Co-Ordinator, SHE and Group’s CSR function to develop and execute company’s sustainability agenda
    • Creates and deploys strategy to reduce energy & water usage for SEE region
    • Reduce overall carbon footprint of company by assessing impact of waste and identifying strategies to improve

Experience & Knowledge:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience within an FMCG environment, with experience leading an engineering function at a large site/multi-sites. Experience operating in a central function developing and deploying maintenance strategy & engineering governance
  • Minimum 10 years working within a Continuous Improvement framework, ideally TPM or equivalent, with strong, practical experience of implementing the Planned Maintenance (PM) / Asset Care Pillar
  • Substantial experience executing projects in an FMCG environment including scope development, execution planning and implementation, cost control, change management and project reporting
  • Proven track record of developing competences within the engineering function and beyond; specifically working with Autonomous Maintenance to develop site Technical Operator capability in addition to upskilling & cross-skilling of site technical Teams
  • Knowledge of project management best practices [PMBOK, Prince2].
  • Knowledge and experience of Early Equipment Management Pillar [TPM/WCM]
  • Experience and knowledge of Hygienic design
  • Flexible and diplomatic, yet able to constructively challenge when necessary
  • Able to lead others, at all levels of the organisation by influence, persuasiveness, diplomacy and negotiation to deliver the requirements of the role
