This is an exciting opportunity where, as a Finance Manager, Adriatic you will lead the finance area and function for the cluster of 8 countries, support the cluster leadership team with business model innovation / Channel management and participate in process improvement initiatives, in liaison with the EE region and the FSSC. You will be also leading a team of 2 Senior Accountants. This role reports solid line to Regional Finance Director, dotted line to GM.

A Day in the Life

Principal responsibilities of Finance Manager, Adriatic cluster:

Business Partnering:

  • Be a pro-active business partner to the local and regional business leaders.
  • Support local business opportunities in accordance with Medtronic internal financial guidelines (finance manual).
  • Be an active partner (internal and external) towards our local distributor network.
  • Be the first point of contact and business partner for the Country leader and his leadership team for all local pricing and profitability questions. Fiduciary cluster responsibilities:
  • Be responsible for all the local primary Accounting and Control processes.
  • Coordinate with FSSC all closing activities, in accordance with the Medtronic Finance manual and US-GAAP.
  • File all external statutory reporting requirements in a timely and qualitative matter, form and substance.
  • Create and maintain adequate internal control framework in cooperation with the regional Eastern Europe controller
  • Be primary contact person for internal and external advisors and authorities.

Process improvements:

  • Identify local process improvement initiatives in liaison with the FSSC and region, design & implement process improvements.
  • Be involved and actively lead all business integrations.

FP&A activities:

  • Manage the Indirect costs for the cluster.
  • Be responsible for the AOP (budgeting) cycle, prepare monthly/quarterly P&L forecasts and report (P&L, B/S and narratives) to local and regional management.

Must Haves and Nice to Haves

Must haves:

  • >10 Years Accounting, Finance or Audit experience, preferably in international environment.
  • Master/university degree, preferably Finance or economics.
  • Strong technical accounting skills including working knowledge of US GAAP.
  • Experience of management accounting and working closely with both financial and non-financial teams.
  • Experience of working in strong partnership with financial shared service centers.
  • Process oriented approach with a quick understanding of new concepts and flexibility to respond to changing requirements.
  • Very strong communication skills.
  • Strong team management experience.
  • Fluent in English (both written and spoken).
  • Excellent IT skills; profound knowledge on Microsoft package and ERP systems.

Nice to haves:

  • Experience from work in Big4 company.
  • SAP experience.
  • Experience of working in a US corporate structure.
  • Experience of working in a matrix organization.
