Job Summary
GE PS Product line Gas Plants Center of Excellence is looking for an Engineer Mechanical Systems/Components for gas turbine power plants and combined cycle power plants (CCPPs) with solid experience in mechanical systems of GT/ST/generator/plant accessories and who seeks a technically challenging and exciting position.
The Engineer will be responsible for sizing, specification, selection and integration of new mechanical equipment for Conversions, Modifications & Upgrades (CM&U) & development projects (NPIs) and will support Fleet Support of gas turbine power plants and combined cycle power plants of the complete GE fleet for operational and complex issues.

Essential Functions
• Size, specify, select and integrate mechanical equipment of GT/ST/generator/plant accessories, water/steam cycle and Balance of Plant systems for Conversions, Modifications & Upgrades (CM&U) & development projects (NPI)
• Act as team member in NPI projects with innovative and cost efficient concepts and work out solutions based on Fast Works
• Act as team member of the offer team (Application Engineering) and/or the project execution team (Requisition Engineering) for complex GT or CCPP CM&U projects being responsible for his own work packages (scope, schedule, budget)
• Prioritize, plan and execute tasks when executing own work packages for multiple projects in parallel
• Assume responsibility for mechanical component engineering within CM&U and NPI project teams
• Product Maintenance
• Support fleet management to resolve complex customer issues and drive improvements
• Support root cause analyses (RCAs) and support feedback loop on field experience into new products / product improvements and the ERS community

Znanja i kvalifikacije:
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor or Master degree in mechanical engineering/process engineering
• Relevant experience in the Power Industry, ideally component/system engineering or process engineering
• Basic process knowledge of water/steam cycle and Balance of Plant systems
• Analytical and problem solving skills; ability to assess situations and make judgements based on practice or previous experience
• Structured and independent working style
• IT skills
• Basic CAD skills,
• Fluid dynamics
• Fluent in written and spoken English
• Flexibility and willingness to travel (max 10%)

Optional Qualifications
• Post University degree in in fluid mechanic and thermodynamics
• Post University degree in mechanical integrity
• Experience in mechanical systems of water/steam cycle and Balance of Plant
• CAD 3D skills PDMS, Inventor
• Mechanical Integrity Tool (CEASAR, ROHR2)
• German basic knowledge
