Flex Medical Design & Engineering works with top healthcare companies and has a proven record of bringing to the market high technology, award winning, medical devices in the diagnostics, drug delivery, imaging and lab sectors.
Located in Timisoara, a team works with the European Lead Design Center based in Milan – Italy.
In order to support the expansion of the growing business of medical device development in Europe we are looking for:
Design NPI Engineer (m/f)
You:
• Coordinate and control technical design review activities with the Design Engineering team throughout the product development cycle
• Support the evaluation of design and manufacturing options through a detailed trade-off analysis
• Evaluate proposed design solutions and manufacturing/assembly processes for assigned NPI programs according to the DFX guidelines and provide timely feedback to the project team to address any potential risks; you evaluate prototype and volume production requirements and prepare proposals in collaboration with Project manager and NPI Engineering Manager including requirements, timelines and costs
• Prepare require detailed NPI and design transfer plan and schedule covering all aspects of the product industrialization process; You prepare and use checklists to guarantee process steps executions; you participate to all NPI builds at factory floor (world-wide locations)
• Bring in the design know-how in collaboration and synergy with the NPI organization participate to the development and qualification of new manufacturing and assembly processes/technologies
• Drive problem solving activities; gather detailed information/data using failure analysis (FA) tools on process and production issues to properly drive to resolution
• Contribute to generate and maintain/update a set of product specific guidelines, lesson learned to share know-how with the NPI team and extended design engineering organization for all future references
• You will have to travel 50% of your working time to support on-site activities

Kenntnisse und Qualifikationen:

• Availability to relocate to Timisora, Romania.
• Familiarity with Medical Device design, industrialization, and manufacturing process.
• BS Degree in engineering (mechanical is preferred), plus 3+ years of experience in a large, global, manufacturing operation.
• Experience with Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma and PFMEA techniques and electro-mechanical system manufacturing.
• Knowledge about Product Life Cycle process for New Production Introduction from design concept into volume production, knowledge of IQ-OQ-PQ processes.
• Experience in transferring products from design into low cost manufacturing regions.
• Ability to communicate-present with full demonstration of technical expertise with internal and external customers; the ability to create full set of technical information and documentation, supporting presentations and communications to internal and external customers.
• Excellent personal organizational capability, time management, and verbal-written communication skills.
• Availability to relocate to Timisora, Romania.
