Auka pioneered mobile payments in Scandinavia in 2010 and in July 2019 we launched our mobile wallet, Settle, in Croatia as the first market. The ambition is to make Settle The European mobile payment scheme with more markets coming up this year. In Croatia, Settle is well on its way to becoming a strong brand together with such well-known partners as 24sata and Sberbank. Settle is built on a distribution model where any company can distribute the service for a commission. This is unique to Settle and allows us to distribute the solution to a wide range of people and businesses at a low cost. Here is an informational video about Auka and Settle
What we are looking for
In Settle, we value our partners highly and now we are looking for a person that can help strengthen the relationship with both distribution partners and merchants. We are looking for a person with experience from b2b sales in the banking or payment sector with a strong drive to digitise cash.
What you will do
You will work closely with the operations and country managers of Croatia to help drive the local strategy and strengthen Settle’s position on the Croatian market. Your main focus will be to onboard and support new and existing merchants. However, we are a dynamic team and you are expected to step in where needed. This is an independent role and you will work closely with teams remotely in both Norway and Romania.
Responsibilities
- Identify, meet and onboard new merchants to Settle
- Drive usage of Settle by engaging with both existing and new merchants
- Help distribution partners on the acquiring side onboard merchants to Settle and drive usage
- Work together with the country and operations manager to form and execute on the strategy for Settle in Croatia

Skills and experience
- An excellent level of verbal and written Croatian and English,
- A decisive, action-oriented individual who takes ownership of open issues and who has the ability to interface successfully with Settle ́s operations, engineering and commercial teams,
- Previous experience in a high-tech environment and payments is a bonus
- Bachelor degree is a bonus but not a pre-requisite for the right person (we value skillset much higher than education)
- A team player mindset who also works well independently,
- A person that thrives in a start-up minded business environment where people are held accountable for their own tasks
