Jons Civil Engineering Company Ltd (JCEL) has over 36 years’ experience in the successful delivery of infrastructural projects in the Republic of Ireland, specialising in the innovative execution of complex Irish Civil Engineering projects.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
The Site Engineer role would suit an experienced, hands on, self-reliant, delivery orientated individual looking to advance their career in Civil Engineering.
The Site Engineer reports to the Site Agent/Construction Manager and works closely with him / her to help drive the project through to successful completion, safely, on time, within budget. The Engineer is highly motivated, willing to work on their own initiative and possesses good interpersonal and communication skills.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES
• You will be responsible for and proficient in organising, planning and delivery of civil engineering projects of varying sizes.
• You will liaise with the Construction Manager on day-to-day project control and co-ordination of resources and the recording & measuring of works in progress
• You will organise the workforce, the requisitioning of plant and materials items and the productivity of plant and equipment on site
• You will have a detailed & practical understanding of Health and safety in a civil engineering environment.
• You will be responsible for coordinating the workforce (direct and sub-contractor) and all other resources required in order to implement the execution of the project plan
• You will be responsible for Scheduling material requisitions as required in accordance with the project plan
• You will provide clear leadership and direction to the workforce while maintaining a professional manner
• You will maintaining a daily Site Diary and Allocation sheet detailing resource levels for all works activities and keeping accurate records
• You will be responsibility for the quality of the construction outputs, as well as creating and/or assessing quality standards
• You will be responsible for inputting to the monthly project measures and your sites cost control and efficiency.

• You will have a relevant degree, BSc, BEng or MEng degree in Civil Engineering
• You will have between 2 and 6 years’ hands on operational experience managing a direct workforce on a range of civil engineering projects.
• You will be Computer literate and up to date in Engineering Packages / Software
• You will have excellent interpersonal skills, strong English written and oral communication skills & the ability to work as part of a team
