Senior Automation Engineer (m/f) (Pharmaceutical Manufacturing) - Extensive International Travel
ACE consulting GmbH is seeking a Senior Automation resource to help with one of our customers in the pharmaceutical industry at one of their locations in China.
• The right candidate will serve on this project the first two years of his/her employment.
• Successful candidates will have an understanding of the basics of automation, automation communications, and program data access along with development and troubleshooting abilities.
• Candidates who are timid or introverted are encouraged not to apply.
Location: Bavarian
Direct W2 or contract employee of Flexware Innovation
Travel: 50-75% for the first two years
This is a requirement where the right candidate will be open to extensive travel for the first two years.
Expectations of the candidate would include being onsite at Flexware for 2, 3, or 6 months for training prior to solo placement on the project.

What we need in candidates to successfully fulfill this role:
“Must haves” for this role include:
Ability to understand, manage, support, and execute an implementation of a multilevel (0-3) manufacturing system. Interact well with the customer as well as multi-national customers on all levels(management and technical). Previous experience in project leadership, mentoring, and consulting with customers at all levels. Past exposure to a manufacturing environment. Knowledge of and worked in pharmaceutical or med device environment. Experience with OPC and device drivers for various automation vendors.Database experience – can be a basic understanding but must have previous exposure. HMI/SCADA – may never have directly touched an HMI package but is software oriented. Rockwell: FactoryTalk View SE (network), Rockwell Historian (PI), FTBatch. GE: iFix – programming experience with .NET, VBA, etc. is a plus. Process Automation. PLCs: Allen-Bradley ControlLogix, Siemens (S7-200, S7-300, S7-400)
DCS experience would be a nice to have, but is not a requirement
The right candidate will have experience in event viewing/troubleshooting, performance monitoring, installation of applications, and general active directory knowledge / windows security
Functional and technical skills that would be a plus for candidates:
• SQL Server 2008 R2
• Ability to use basic SQL management tools (SQL Server Management Studio)
• Ability to do basic queries (basic select and updates, simple joins)
• Oracle 11g
• Ability to use basic SQL management tools (SQL Developer, SQL Plus, etc…)
• Ability to do basic queries (basic select and updates, simple joins)
• Understanding of Oracle Schema objects, security
• Software/Computer Systems Understanding of:
• Windows 2008 R2
• Services
• Event Viewing/Troubleshooting
• Performance Monitoring
• Installation of Applications
• General Active Directory knowledge / Windows Security
