Gap Medics serves a very specific niche market: We provide placements for aspiring medical students aged 16-12 to give them a first-hand insight into the work of hospital doctors in exciting locations around the world.

Our dedication to providing well-organised placement and outstanding customer service in our own student guesthouses in every destination has been the foundation of tremendous growth from our launch in 2010 to 5,000 students undertaking our placements in 2015.

Maintaining consistently high standards of service alongside this growth is a considerable
challenge, and the reason we are seeking an exceptional new manager to develop our new programme in Pula.

Your role as Programme Manager

You will take a very hands-on lead in a small team that must pull together to deliver a wide
range of services, often under considerable pressure.

About half of your time will be devoted to our hospital partnerships - building personal
relationships with doctors and other staff, briefing them about new students, planning and
scheduling, and troubleshooting day-to-day problems that arise when students are on
placement. As a representative of Gap Medics, you must be confident, highly professional and
immaculately presented.

Your team will include a full time Caterer, a Housekeeper and a Nighttime Student Supervisor,
allowing you to provide a comprehensive hospitality service with a friendly family feel and fun
social atmosphere. Again, you will be very hands-on, sharing everything from greeting students
on arrival at the airport to welcome briefings, organising barbecue nights and helping students
through any problems they have.

As the administrative manager, you will also be responsible for budget and accounts
preparation, handling administration with hospitals and maintaining a very close day-to-day working relationship with the team in our UK head office by phone or email.

Candidate profile and salary guidelines

More than anything, we are looking for candidates with the personality, confidence and
ambition to fit this role. We believe the role may appeal to:

•Hospitality managers or assistant managers with experience of managing small hotels
• Schoolteachers, with experience of running school trips for 14-18 year olds;
• Travel and tourism managers who have experience of managing large groups.

Salary will be discussed at the interview stage and will depend on skills and experience. As a
rough guide starting salary is likely to be in the range of HRK 6,000 – HRK 10,000.
