Lead Buyer w/m
Our client, an international, dynamic and aggressively growing production company of complex B2B products with more than 100 production sites worldwide, is market-leader in many of its markets. In order to secure the efficient procurement of a significant buying volume, the company is seeking to recruit a high-calibre Lead Buyer for one of its Business Units.
Directly reporting to the Procurement Director of the Business Unit, you are responsible for coordinating the procurement process of the main raw material, accounting for 50% of the company purchasing volume, and thus taking over one of the key functions within the company. Additionally, you are coordinating a team of 2 international Segment Lead Buyers. The place of employment for this challenging position is flexible – one of the local sites, preferably in Austria, Germany or other European sites, as well as the HQ in Vienna is possible.
This challenging position within a dynamic, international group environment requires salient professional experience in procurement as well as a strategic vision, high negotiation skills and solution orientation. Your task
» Overall responsibility for the worldwide procurement of the main raw material for one Business Unit, ensuring high quality, cost efficiency and on-time delivery
» Operational responsibility for a substantial share of the total buying volume
» Stabilization of present as well as extension of new supplier relations, network development within Europe and worldwide
» Functional responsibility for contract negotiations with suppliers, timely deliveries, realization of procurement synergies, detection of potential saving opportunities, product development, etc.
» Coordination and motivation of your team of Segment Lead Buyers
Your profile
» Profound technical education (university-level), or business education combined with technical affinity
» At least 5 years of successful experience in operative procurement of raw materials, semi-manufactured or intermediate products in a dynamic, international B2B environment (e.g. Automotive/ IT/Semiconductors)
» Extensive operational purchasing experience in international markets, ideally rounded off with knowledge of paper / flexible packaging markets
» Technical understanding and high affinity to B2B products, ideally technical experience or experience with product development
» Excellent negotiation skills, independent working style and entrepreneurial approach
» Fluent English, additional languages are an asset
