ESB International has an exciting opportunity for an Electrical, Control & Instrumentation Maintenance Team Leader to join our team in the mobilisation of a new, modern Power Plant based at Marsaxlokk, Malta.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to join the Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Team as Electrical, Control & Instrumentation (EC&I) Maintenance Team Leader.

Role Description:
The EC&I Maintenance Team Leader will have responsibility for the planning, control and supervision of the electrical, control and instrumentation maintenance of the generating Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) plant while maintaining the highest safety standards, practices and leadership.

Key Responsibilities Include:
Duties will include, but are not to be limited to, the following:
• Carry out authorized roles under the safety rules;
• Direct and supervise the EC&I function, assess training needs and manage individual performance plans;
• Comply with corporate and statutory safety and environmental obligations;
• Development and implement appropriate maintenance procedures and guidelines;
• Development and management of applicable maintenance contracts including the management of contractors;
• Be a leading participant in the planning, organising and implementation of annual overhauls;
• Scheduling, planning and optimizing all EC&I maintenance activities in a safe and efficient manner;
• Train and develop staff;
• Carry out the role in management of safety, environment and quality as identified in the relevant ISO systems and processes;
• Liaise with other departments as required or directed;
• Project management as required;
• General driving duties as required.

Znanja i kvalifikacije:
Knowledge, Skills & Work Experience:
• Team Leaders will be educated to:
o Preferably a Bachelor’s degree level (MQF Level 6); or
o A recognized electrical and/or control and instrumentation craft qualification (MQF Level 5) with additional electrical, control and instrumentation certificate(s) and/or diploma(s);
• Extensive power plant or process industry experience in their core electrical, control and instrumentation discipline with a minimum of three (3) years’ recent experience in the role of Electrical, Control and Instrumentation Maintenance Team Leader or Supervisor and a proven ability to organise and prioritise work;
• Demonstrated understanding and knowledge of electrical, control and instrumentation systems;
• Flexibility is a feature of the maintenance team between the EC&I and Mechanical crafts. Within the EC&I team some overlap across the EC&I roles will apply;
• A good command of written and spoken English is essential;
• Experience in the operation or maintenance of thermal and/or CCGT power plant would be desirable;
• An understanding of mechanical, heavy rotational and pressure systems is desirable;
• Experience with Distributed Control System (DCS) control systems;
• Experience of working with HV, MV and LV electrical equipment;
• Experience in liaising with relevant statutory bodies and contractors;
• Experience in project management and/or good planning skills;
• Good ICT skills would be required;
• In possession of a valid driving licence.

Relationship:
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager.

Working Arrangements:
The Power Plant Maintenance Team will be engaged on day duty basis on an average of forty (40) hours per week.

Training & Continuing Professional Development:
As it is a new built power plant a significant amount of training will be provided in the early stage of plant set-up. Whilst most training will be carried out at site or locally, there may be a requirement to attend some training at the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM’s) workshops or training centres where appropriate.
