The U.S. Embassy in Zagreb is seeking an individual for employment as a Chauffeur in the GSO Section for period November 2010 to May 2011.
BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION
Operates motor pool vehicles for all official travel and other duties in support of the Embassy operation. Provides transportation services for employees and official visitors. Picks up and delivers mail, official supplies, Diplomatic Notes, etc. Reports any problems or servicing needs to supervisor. Performs basic vehicle maintenance when necessary. Maintains vehicle in clean and serviceable condition, and maintains daily vehicle trip reports. Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

1. Completion of secondary school required.
2. Must have at least six months of professional driving experience.
3. Level III English (good working knowledge) and Level IV (fluent) Croatian required.
4. Must have category B and C driver's license. Excellent reaction and night vision are required. Must have good inter-personal skills to deal with variety of people and situations.
5. Must have full knowledge of local traffic laws. Must be familiar with Zagreb area, safest and fastest routes. Must have basic understanding and knowledge of motor vehicle maintenance.
SELECTION PROCESS
When equally qualified, Eligible Family Members and U.S. Veterans will be given preference. Therefore, it is essential that all candidates address the required qualifications above in the application.

1. Management will consider nepotism/conflict of interest, budget, and visa

2. Current employees serving a probationary period are not eligible to apply.
