About the Job
A. GOAL SETTING / TASKS:
Responsible for interface to electronics experts to define requirements.
Responsible for design, development, test, and debug of related components and assemblies.
Responsible for proving designs by creating test plans for validation and functional testing.
Responsible for design optimization and finalization using test results.
B. PRIMARY DUTIES
Interface with Company groups to define electrical requirements per customer specifications.
Work with external suppliers to develop and validate automotive modules.
Involved from concept inception through production launch of components and assemblies.
Arrange, conduct and supervise testing to prove the design is viable.
Assure that full validation test cycle is conducted to prove that the production parts meet the design specification.
Direct and support material and design solutions to meet the functional requirements of the customer
Support manufacturing issues associated with launch and long term production operations.
Support of Project Management process, providing documentation and cross functional involvement through product launch.
Direction of continuous improvement with specific product designs, and support of continuous improvement in manufacturing operations associated.
Creation of development timing and resource planning
Continuous improvement of ongoing design and development efforts

• Able to interpret e-mail communication and prioritize assigned tasks.
• Arrange for, set up and conduct testing.
• Ability to successfully interface with customers, associates, and the community
• Self motivated and results oriented.

• Ability to make strong decisions
• Experience with OEM or Tier 1 automotive seating design and development
• Basic understanding of CAN/LIN automotive systems.
• Direct experience in vehicle module application.
• Exposure to automotive diagnostics and programming.
• Direct experience in design, development, and manufacturing of automotive products
• Detailed familiarity with automotive product development and project monitoring tools, including DFMEA, PFMEA, PPAP, APQP, QS9000, DFA, DFM, TS16949.
• Demonstrated drafting and tolerance analysis skills.
• Able to read/understand full automotive electronic test specifications.
• Ability to interface with electronics experts to define requirements.
• Interface with outside suppliers as needed for test software development.
• Able to interpret e-mail communication and prioritize assigned tasks.
